Bjorg was born and raised in Iceland. She studied languages at the University of Iceland and made a career in translation and proofreading. A chance encounter with clay changed her direction and she went on to study ceramics at Rhode Island School of Design, earning a MFA degree in 2013.

She seeks inspiration in the natural and the man-made. The open, sparse landscape of Iceland is the instinctive backdrop while being informed by architectural forms, innovation and practicality.

Bjorg lives and works in Towaco, New Jersey.
